What are you fighting for this new year 2026?

The past has gone and the new has come. May the new year  brings you good hope and encouragement. In the bible, God reminded us that there's a real fight for each of us as His believers. We cannot exempt ourselves from that fight but to face it and learn to fight it well with God's help. 

1 Timothy 6:12, 'Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.'

It is our 'faith' in Christ Jesus that  can overcome this world. Do you believe it? Do you believe that by believing who Jesus Christ is can overcome all sorts of doubts created in this world? For example, your identity, your ability, your social status, your culture, etc. Have you been defining who you are by the standard of this world? Have you been defining your ability and gifts by your family members or colleagues? Have you been chasing your social status in order to be made known by others? Have you been following your own culture instead of following Christ Jesus?

Who shall define you and me? It is by this world standards or by the standard of God?

Who shall we chase after? social status, fame...??

Who shall be our main focus? Who shall be the 'center' in our life? 

Our 'faith' in the Lord - what He has done for us (He made us holy and righteous by dying up on the Cross for you and me; He cleansed our sins and made us pure before the eyes of God by His shed blood for you and me; He redeemed us from the grave of death and we are now belong to God, we have a renewed relationship with our heavenly Father, we are no longer hostile toward God!)

1 John 5:4,  'For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.'

Do you remember all these? Those are the facts we need to remember when the devil is throwing 'doubts' over us for who we are in Christ. Jesus has already done it - He is our Salvation, He is our Redeemer, He is our Saviour. Amen!!

So brothers and sisters, let us fight the good fight of our faith this 2026! Be filled with the joy of the Lord and be of good cheer in our walk with the Lord. For all our efforts will NOT be in vain. We will reap what we sow in the new year. Be ready and Be willing to learn from God whatever He has for you this new year. Fight well. Amen.

Ephesians 6:10-18 about The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
